02.03.2010 Borderlands Soundtrack Review
For the last ten years a release of a new franchise has been quite a responsible and high-profile mission reminding of a space probe launch somewhere to Saturn much investment, long flight and no guaranty of finding anything useful on the planet. New universes are reluctant to take roots, are often whimsical and naughty, and it takes a long way for them to rise from the dunghill. One can just look at the bunch of sequels and prequels released this year so as to realize this simple truth. So a postapocalyptic shooter with cel-shaded graphics (hey, comics!) and RPG elements like in Diablo couldnt be more unexpected. One can only envy courage of 2K Games sponsoring the project. Welcome the winner of the Innovation Award!

Jesper Kyd is working intensively under
Kane & Lynch: Dead Man soundtrack - the newest project forging inside the danish
IO Interactive studio, creators of Hitman series. This work is signiicant by the fact, that a professional guitarist been involved in recording process for some of the tracks. How did that happen?
Allen "Robot" Van Wert speaks:
"I read about this guy named Jesper Kyd who was also into old Amiga video game/demo things.. he used to make music for them.. in tracker etc. He now composes music for big name game titles .. sometimes employing a big Hungarian orchestra...well... I sent him my CD to have his opinion.. Then we talked on the phone.. And he liked it alot.. We agreed to do some collaborating on his and my stuff... He emails me tracks and I play the guitar to it and send it back... its really easy and fun.. I will be on a sound track for a new game coming out soon on the x box 2 I believe, and all the new consoles."
Well, this union could be really profitable, especially for Allen, whose name will be credited in game titles. Gamers in their turn would have a possibility to evaluate new sound atmosphere these guitar riffs will add into Kyd's music. First Kane & Lynch: Dead Man video trailer can be found on
