What do you get when you tussle with an angry polar bear?
DEEP CUTS.
Out of Hibernation is a synth-driven tribute to video game music that I love, whether from games that I have enjoyed or just tracks that jumped out at me when I heard them. All tracks began life as entries in the monthly Dwelling of Duels remix competition, where I have met so many fantastic people, many of whom lent their talents to this album. The monthly themes often encourage participants to dig up music from lesser-known games which is why this album has everything from obscure DOS shareware games that I got on magazine cover discs to more recent hits and classics from the retro VGM catalogue.
Dedicated to Chris McKnight and Sean Babbitt who both taught me a lot about life, music and friendship.
released December 20, 2024

I owe so much to all my collaborators: not only did you lend your talents, but also your support and friendship through the process of making the original tracks and putting together this album. I couldn’t have done this without all of these amazing musicians and more than that, amazing people. You mean so much to me. I hope we can play some of these tracks live one day.
Album Art by Logan ”biggoron” Tucker
Mixed and Mastered by Erik Peabody - Viking Guitar Productions
