Final Symphony Redux at London Barbican

We can exclusively reveal that, on May 30, 2013, the London Symphony Orchestra will perform Final Symphony will occur at the Barbican Centre in the London. The symphonic game music concert will explore the worlds and music of three games in the Final Fantasy series (VI, VII, and X) with brand new, extended arrangements. Series' composer Nobuo Uematsu and Final Fantasy X composer/arranger Masashi Hamauzu will be both attending the concert as special guests. For more info and tickets, check here.

Set Listings for Symphony Hall Concert

On October 7, the <a href="/redirect.php?link=http://www.bso.org/Performance/Detail/46594" target="_blank">Video Game Orchestra</a> will perform 'rockestral' adaptations of popular video game music at Boston's Symphony Hall. The concert will be performed by full orchestra and rock band, and will feature four special guests: Yoko Shimomura, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Noriyuki Iwadare, and Kinuyo Yamashita.

 
The set listings span classics such as <i>Street Fighter II, Chronos,</i> and <i>Castlevania</i> through to modern favourites like <i>God of War, Kingdom Hearts,</i> and <i>Snake Eater</i>. Special items include a suite dedicated to <i>Final Fantasy VII</i>, an exclusive 15 minute arrangement of <i>Grandia</i> by Iwadare himself, and a medley featuring favourites from Sakimoto. Chiptune Albums for Final Fantasy VII - X

To celebrate Final Fantasy's 25th Anniversary, Square Enix have prepared a series of chiptune arranged albums for the franchise. Popular tracks from Final Fantasy VII to X will be covered by Sexy-Synthesizer, Kplecraft, and BOKKADENcI, among others. The albums will be first released at a Japan event this weekend, but will later be commercially available worldwide.
