Spike Video Game Awards Score Nominees Announced
The
nominees for the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards have been announced. They are
Journey (Austin Wintory), Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Jack Wall), Halo 4 (Neil Davidge), and Max Payne 3 (HEALTH). The majority of award nominees and winners are voted by an advisory council, featuring 25 journalists from various media outlets. Fans, however, can vote online for which games they think should win each category. The 2012 Spike Video Game Awards will take place on December 7 2012.

Black Ops 2 Behind-the-Scenes Featurette
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, one of this year&39;s most anticipated game scores, is the subject of a behind-the-scenes featurette, detailing the score&39;s recording process at Abbey Road Studios and showcasing composer Jack Wall&39;s insights into the composition process. Jack Wall (Myst and Mass Effect series) is the latest high-profile composer to create music for the Call of Duty series, following in the footsteps of composers like Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer and Brian Tyler. The soundtrack album, which includes a theme song by Nine Inch Nails front man and Academy Award-winner Trent Reznor, is scheduled to be released commercially on November 13th and at close to 150 minutes will be the most expansive Call of Duty album release to date.

Black Ops II Soundtrack Details
Activision will package a soundtrack with the collector's editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The Hardened Edition ($80) and the Care Package Edition ($180) will both feature the official soundtrack for the game, along with other bonuses. Jack Wall (Mass Effect, Lost Planet 3, Video Games Live) is serving as the principle composer of the game, while Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails, The Social Network, Quake) is creating the theme song. It remains to be confirmed whether the game will also receive a digital soundtrack release.
